Yago es un hombre que se ha criado en la selva misionera, en Iguazú, al cuidado de Gardel. Es una persona simple y solidaria aunque un poco primitivo. Morena es una mujer de ciudad que se ocupa de los negocios de su familia y vive siempre a las apuradas. Nacida en Perú completó sus estudios en Nueva York. Su mejor amiga, Laura la convence para hacer un viaje a las Cataratas del Iguazú a pasar unos días de vacaciones y, a pesar de sus muchas obligaciones, Morena acepta. En Misiones, ella conoce a Yago, pero sus primeros encuentros son accidentados. Por casualidad, Yago descubre que Gardel no es su padre biológico y comienza a investigar su pasado hasta que siente la imperiosa necesidad de viajar a Buenos Aires donde, supone, va a encontrar su verdadera identidad. Y, paradójicamente, ese pasado de Yago está muy ligado a Morena y a la familia Sirenio. En Buenos Aires, Aldo engaña a su familia y Cassandra forma parte de esa traición, aunque logrará esconder sus propósitos durante mucho tiempo.
